EAST WEST PLACEMENT CENTER, INC. (EWPCI, for
brevity) is created by the people and for the
people.
EWPCI’S duties and obligations do not end after we finalized an agreement
with a foreign principal or after the deployment of a candidate. Rather,
we expect more serious responsibilities after our candidates’ deployment.
As part of our commitment, we have created a separate Welfare Department
with at least three
(3)
Legal Consultants and Counselors working on the legal matters and concerns
of all our clients, candidates and workers.
The essence of the Welfare Department is also embodied even in our
Recruitment Agreement with our clients, for them to be always aware of the
major role being played by the Welfare Department in the conduct of all
our recruitment activities.
Our recruitment activities are governed by the mandates of the rule of law
and the Labor Code of the Philippines, the National Labor Relations
Commission (NLRC), the Rules and Regulations of the Philippine Overseas
Employment Administration (POEA) and the Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE) in general.
Every aspect of our recruitment activity is patterned to the existing
rules and regulations governing the recruitment and placement of workers
in the Philippines. The reputation that we have earned in the market is
our inspiration to devote every little time that we have to foster the
advancement of lives of our workers by giving them an assurance that we
are behind them in every step that they take in the pursuit of their
dreams. This obligation to our candidates and workers is coupled with our
organic duties and responsibilities to protect and assist our clients in
all their recruitment activities.
We view every issue in perspective and with high regard to the interest of
both the workers and the clients and let each party feel that we do not
cuddle the wrong, but we favor the right.
To let the candidates feel the presence of the Welfare Department, we
provide them of an undertaking attached to their Employment Contract,
enumerating the steps that each worker has to take in case an irregularity
shall happen in the future.
The Welfare Department is under the direct control and supervision of
Atty. Mamerto S. Villanueva, Ms. Vanch D. Rongcales (LLB), Ms. Jane Galang (Legal/HR Secretary) who always come to the
rescue of our clients, candidates and workers.
For any legal concern, all our clients, candidates, any Government Office
and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) may communicate with Ms.
