WHAT IS INTERNET VIDEO CONFERENCING?

Internet Video Conferencing or IVC is a technology for conducting video calls thru the internet, much like the video chat provided by Yahoo and Skype. The software used here is SightSpeed. Employers can conduct applicant interviews thru the use of IVC rather than taking a trip to the Philippines to do interview missions.

WHAT IS SIGHTSPEED?

SightSpeed is a revolutionary software for Internet Video Conferencing. It allows multi-party video conferences thru the internet. Unlike Yahoo Messenger and Skype, this service streams fluid video on real-time with up to 28 frames per second. Skype only reaches up to 7 fps. SightSpeed also allows the viewer to control the remote web cam. Employers can pan, tilt and zoom the camera -- very handy when interviewing applicants thru the internet.

DO I NEED A WEB CAM?

No. You only need a headset with microphone to communicate thru SightSpeed. A web cam is optional if you want the applicant to see you as well. You also need an internet connection of at least 128 kbps.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING?

No. This facility is free and is available only for employers.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF INTERVIEWING THRU THIS FACILITY?

1. Travel expenses are eliminated. Cost of interviews is significantly reduced when employers do not have to travel to the Philippines to conduct interview missions.

2. Selection of candidates is faster. Employers can interview applicants immediately especially for urgent requirements and where there are only a few candidates to interview. Rather than schedule the candidates for an interview mission, employers can simply interview them right away and make selections over the internet.

3. Better applicant retention. Most applicants have applications with more than one recruitment agency and they will take the first good offer that they come across. Hence, the applicant retention is very low in most cases. By conducting interviews and selections thru internet video conferencing, the chances of losing qualified candidates to other employers is very low.

4. Accessibility to more qualified candidates. Some applicants live in remote provinces and the possibility that they will return for an employer interview is low. Therefore, by interviewing the applicants thru the internet while they are already in our office gives employers access to a bigger base of candidates.

WHEN CAN I USE THIS FACILITY?

Employers may conduct video interviews thru SightSpeed at anytime. Simply arrange for this service with your respective Recruitment Supervisor. Inform us on what day or time you want to conduct interviews, and if you want to be notified immediately of available applicants for interview. There may be times when we might have applicants that need to be interviewed right away. In cases like that, you can interview them right away thru this facility.

HOW CAN I ACCESS THIS FACILITY?

There is a guide that you can download to help you set up SightSpeed on your computer. Click here to download. After setting up SightSpeed on your computer and after acquiring a user account from SightSpeed, you can make a test by calling us at webcam1@eastwest.com.ph.

CAN WE INTERVIEW MULTIPLE APPLICANTS SIMULTANEOUSLY?

Yes. If there will be more than one interviewer, we can set up one web cam per interviewer.

CAN WE CONDUCT ORIENTATIONS THRU THIS FACILITY?

Yes. Some employers need to conduct pre-interview orientations or seminars. You will need a web cam on your end. We will show your live video feed thru a projector. This way you can orient the applicants all at once.
